Mom and businesswoman Leigh Emmanuel opened the Free Range Lifestyle Centre to allow parents to have a relaxing day out while their children play not too far away. Most lifestyle centres are overcrowded and the food isn’t the focus, which is why Free Range was such a pleasant surprise.
At Free Range you can enjoy fresh, delicious bistro-style food from The Lot Restaurant while the kids play in safe areas looked after by child minders. The menu includes delicious breakfasts, gourmet pies and spectacular salads and flatbreads. The kiddies menu is super creative with imaginative drinks like sour-worm lemonade and even puréed baby food options for the very little ones.
Apart from the restaurant, the centre also houses a coffee roastery, a bakery, an ice cream parlour, a deli, two boutique stores, a toy store and the Olive Branch Cooking School.
This lifestyle centre is definitely not to be missed by families with children. It’s a relaxing spot with a farm-style feel and the food impressed me to no end. Have the iced coffee when you visit, it’s served in a jam jar and is absolutely delicious.
The centre is situated at the Rustic Timber Centre on Witkoppen Road, Fourways, Jo’burg.
