What has been the highlight of your career?
Being on Masterchef South Africa and meeting Marco Pierre White.

Have you always had a passion for food?Yes! As a young girl I always watched my mother cook on an open fire using a three legged potjie.

What’s your favourite meal?
I love osso buco with soft polenta and roast chicken and veggies.

Top tip for anyone wanting to be a cook?
Read as many cookbooks as you can, surf the internet for tips and watch cooking shows.

What current food/cooking trend is your favourite?
Fermentation – I grew up eating fermented sorghum porridge and bread, which I love.

What are you working on right now?
I’m working on my own cooking show which will be airing soon on DStv.

What’s your indispensable kitchen tool?
My food processor.
