Known for his contemporary Cape vernacular style, architect Simon McCullagh is one of the preferred architects selected to work on the Lake Michelle eco-estate in Noordhoek.
Appreciating his style, the homeowners called on Simon to design a relaxed family home with a holiday atmosphere. His design incorporated simple barn-like buildings positioned around courtyards, which provide protection from the prevailing wind. In addition, the ‘barns’ allow for windows and doors on two or three sides of the rooms, which bring in light and views at all times of the day.
