Homemade body scrub is the perfect gift for someone special. Here’s a recipe for your own Rooibos chai sugar body scrub.

This body scrub is packed with benefits for your skin, and it smells great, too!

Beauty Benefits of this recipe

Body scrubs exfoliate the skin, preventing ingrown hairs, removing dirt and unclogging pores. This allows your skin to absorb moisture more effectively, leaving it softer and smoother.

Rooibos is an anti-oxidant, which is great for soothing skin irritations, calming inflammation, and fighting free-radicals. It’s also good for preventing wrinkles and promoting the production of new skin cells.

Cinnamon can help with hyper-pigmentation and scarring to even out complexion, and honey is well-known for its anti-microbial and soothing properties.

INGREDIENTS

  • 440g brown sugar
  • ½ cup olive/almond/deodorised coconut oil
  • ¼ cup Rooibos tea leaves
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • Pinch ground cardamom
  • 1 thumb-size piece fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp honey

METHOD

MIX all of the ingredients together until combined. Place in airtight jars and store at room temperature.
TO USE rub all over your body, hands or lips, then wash off with warm water.
