The 2015 Turbine Art Fair (TAF15), brought to you by The Forum Company, returns to the iconic Turbine Hall in Newtown for a third year from 16 to 19 July
TAF15 is an amazing platform for galleries, curators and other art organisations to promote emerging and established talents in an accessible way. In doing this TAF aims to promote new work and talent and create a new art audience and collector base.
“Visitors can expect to see over 40 galleries represented, with exhibits showcasing the best contemporary and emerging African talent. There’ll also be live music, artisan food and drink, books and publications, children’s programmes and more,” says Glynis Hyslop, managing director of The Forum Company.
We’re especially looking forward to the daily talks programme, which are interactive chats with influential speakers in the world of art.
Some of the topics include:
THE ART OF COLLECTING: modern and contemporary art and popular culture (Speakers: Warren Siebrits and Dr Fred Scott)
A personal discussion between very different South African collectors including their captivating anecdotes about their own collections and approach to art.
MULTIPLES & EDITIONS (Speaker: Mark Attwood with artist Colbert Mashile)
This talk will cover lithography and The Artists’ Press. The history, journey and objectives of the organisation will be covered as well as the creation of original prints.
Whether you’re an art buff or a newbie, TAF promises to be an eventful experience.
