The month of love is approaching, and what better way than to host a Galentine’s with some of your favourite girls. Although many love hosting friends, it can get a little stressful, especially the pre-party cleaning job.

This list of things to clean before your girl friends arrive is essential to adhere to.

Tidy your entryway

Your entryway sets the tone the moment guests walk in. Clear any clutter like shoes, backpacks and stray packages that may be around. A quick sweep or vacuum takes care of any tracked-in dirt. It is ideal to have a designated spot where guests can hang their coats, place their bags, or put their shoes.

Bathrooms

A clean bathroom is one of the easiest ways to make your girls feel extra comfortable. Start by wiping down the toilet both inside and out. A good toilet brush can help with any stubborn spots. Start by applying a multi-purpose cleaner to the sink and tap handles. Then, use a solid glass cleaner on the mirror to remove any toothpaste splatters, handprints, or streaks.

Kitchen

You cannot host a Galentine’s without food. Whether it’s home-cooked foods or store-bought food, they’ll still be served in the kitchen. Make sure the countertops are cleared and wiped down, the sink is empty and rinsed, the stovetop is free from any splatters and spills and any garbage is taken out.

Living Room

The living room is another one of the main gathering spots. It is essential to spend a few extra minutes cleaning it. Start by clearing visual clutter like remote controls or magazines. Give your coffee tables a quick wipe down before vacuuming the floors and any pet hair from furniture. Don’t forget to fluff pillows and straighten throw blankets to make the space look more inviting.

Floors

Giving the floors a quick once-over can make a big difference. Run your vacuum over hardwood floors and make sure your rugs are free from pet hair and stray crumbs.
