To maintain their brilliance, your mirrors require regular maintenance. Here’s how to keep your mirrors looking as beautiful as the day you bought them.

Use the right cleaner
Some ammonia-based cleaners can damage the backing of your mirror, causing it to deteriorate over time. Instead, you can DIY yourself some home-based cleaner, with water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. This is a quick cleaning method without the use of harsh chemicals. Just spray the cleaner onto a cloth, not directly onto the mirror, to avoid streaks and moisture buildup at the edges.
Keep it dust-free
Dust may seem harmless, but over time, it can dull the surface of your mirror. Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth once a week to gently wipe away dust. Never use paper towels or rough cloths as they may scratch the glass, damaging the surface of your mirror.
Keep décor items away
Placing candles or diffusers directly on your mirror might look stylish and visually appealing, but wax drips or chemical spills can stain the surface of your mirror. Instead, use coasters or trays to add protection while still keeping your mirrors well-maintained.
Make sure they remain dry
Of course, for many of us, mirrors are a staple in many bathrooms. With all that moisture and humidity in bathrooms, over time, it can affect the mirror frame. After each shower or whenever your mirror becomes damp and fogged up, give it a good wipe with a dry cloth to remove the moisture. Also, make sure your bathroom has good ventilation to allow the humidity out.
