There’s no greater joy than a garden full of perfect-looking flowers. One of the main problems gardeners are faced with is persistent garden bugs that eat and destroy their precious flowers. If you need to get rid of the problem, you need to be able to identify the type of bug it is and what type of damage it does.
What type of Insects are eating your flowers
Local wildlife in gardens can either be beneficial or damage garden plants, but insects that eat flowers are the most problematic ones. Knowing more about the common culprits can help you better diagnose and treat your plants before the damage becomes too severe.
Earwigs
One of the most common pests that damages flowers is the earwig, which often leaves gardeners wondering how to protect their delicate blooms. These insects are particularly frustrating because they remain hidden during the day, seeking shelter in moist areas. At night, they come out to feed on the flowers. In a short period, earwigs can cause significant harm to your precious blooms.

Cutworms
These pests are the most problematic, especially in the early growing season of your flowers. They are caterpillars or larvae, small insects that feed on most of your garden flowers. The noticeable signs of damage caused by cutworms include large cuts taken from the leaves, as well as the presence of dark drops around your affected plants.
Thrips
Thrips are common, troublesome garden pests. On top of eating the leaves of your flowers, these pests also have an appetite for moving to the stems of your flowers. If left undetected, it may cause the decline and potential loss of your flower plants. An infestation of thrips needs to be monitored to avoid them disfiguring your flowers.
Beetles
Not all species of beetles cause damage to your flowers. Beetles move quickly when destroying your flowers, and when left untreated, they can cause harm to plants. This harm can be detrimental to your plants throughout the growing season, resulting in the spread of disease and decline of garden health.
