Boulders Beach has been crowned the second-best beach in the world, according to BeachAtlas.

The London-based start-up, which specialises in world beaches, collated data from 42 experts, including editors, travel bloggers, journalists and travel experts and combined this human expertise with the precision of algorithms for its Golden Beach Award 2024.

The data was based on the following criteria:

  • Classic beauty
  • Inclusivity
  • Natural diversity
  • Party and lifestyle
  • Community
  • Cultural significance

Of the 100 top-rated beaches in the world, Boulders Beach was named second-best after Bora Bora.
