The Franschhoek Wine Valley, the Cape’s very own French outpost, invites you to join them in celebrating Bastille. The event will be in full swing on the weekend of 15th and 16th July 2023.

What to expect at Bastille

This year, Prescient is the proud partner of the Bastille Festival and all its Main Street festivities and celebrations.

The valley is set to be a hive of activity and French flair, offering a weekend of indulgent food as well as the renowned fine wines of Franschhoek. Don your berets and all things red, white, and blue as you revel in the French ambience of the magnificent Winelands.

You are welcome to take a stroll through the vibrant main road and share in the merriment of the daytime. You could also indulge yourself in bespoke village shopping, and enjoy the lively street entertainment of local drummers, musicians and performance artists.

There is a prize to be won

If you need further incentive to dress up, fantastic prizes can be won for the best-dressed attendees over the weekend. The competition promises to be fierce as visitors show off their best French flag-inspired attire.

You are also encouraged to don period pieces, think the Victorian era. The best-dressed person will win a coveted return air ticket to France, generously sponsored by Air France.

The event’s inspiration
