Madeleen Schnitter of Schnitter & Company Architects believes that the three key areas to focus on when building an eco-friendly home are orientation, insulation and energy usage. She took all of these factors into account when designing this energy efficient two-bedroom home, which also boasts a separate guest suite. The design is a contemporary take on the Old Transvaal style; face brick has been teamed with steel pergolas and aluminum windows to create an exterior that is both stylish and low-maintenance.
