Here is how to build your trellis
Adding a DIY trellis to your garden is highly beneficial for most spaces. Installation is straightforward and takes less than an hour with the right tools and instructions.
Step 1: Select the ideal location
Choose a location in your garden that receives at least 8 hours of sunlight daily, as most climbing vegetables require plenty of sun. Choose a direction that works best for your garden’s layout.
Step 2: Prepare your cattle panel trellis
Take your cattle panel, trim it with wire cutters, and get the desired size. You want it to be the perfect size and angle for stability. Position the four T-bar posts. Use the hammer to hammer the posts into the ground, ensuring they are perfectly straight.
Step 3: Securing the cattle panel trellis
Get the biggest zip ties that will fit into the holes of the T-bars. Now you can tighten the trellis with the zip ties to the T-bars. If you want it to be extra tight and have enough zip ties, then you can use all of them. Make sure it is levelled.
Step 4: Now, plant your vertical garden
Now that your cattle panel trellis is properly installed, it’s time to plant your climbing vegetables. A few choices for your trellis include cucumbers, squash or climbing pole beans.
