For many gardeners, the seasonal scents from fragrant outdoor flowers are enough reason to put in the work of planting and maintaining a garden. With these few bloomers, you can surround yourself with those natural floral aromas even indoors.
Gardenia
The scent of gardenia blooms has inspired countless perfumes and home fragrances. Gardenia houseplants are notorious for being high maintenance both indoors and outdoors. But with all that said, they are still worth having. Their need for high humidity and warm temperatures gives them their diva reputation, but the heady, fragrant blooms are worth the effort.

Eucalyptus
The earthy fragrance of eucalyptus is a natural complement to the more floral scents you might have in your space. Eucalyptus is more fun because it provides a year-round fragrance from its leaves instead of sporadic flowers. They are also architectural plants, with their upright growth and silvery-blue, rounded leaves.
Lady of the night orchid
With flowers that resemble heart-shaped lilies, lady’s slipper orchids are a type of orchid variation aptly named because of their nighttime fragrance. These low-maintenance orchid variations love moderate humidity and good air circulation. You need to fertilise at least every two weeks during their growing season for healthy, abundant blooms.

Passionflower
Passionflowers have intricate, almost alien-looking flowers, but not all variations are fragrant. It’s important to shop and sniff to ensure you select a scented variety. One of the best-scented passionflower varieties is the Vanilla Cream variety. These flowers are fast growers and will need support, such as a trellis to climb on.
Arabian jasmine
Though typically grown as an outdoor plant, Arabian jasmine has been known to produce blooms while in a sunny spot indoors. The flowers are beautiful, with pearl-like buds that gracefully open to reveal pure white blooms with a sweet, jasmine-like scent. This is jasmine, which can also be used to add fragrance to green tea. There are single-flowering and double-flowering varieties available, making these flowers great to add.
