Buildaid and SA Garden and Home are presenting 09 workshops in Jo’burg, teaching homeowners what to plan for, what to expect, and how to budget for a home building project

In a series of workshops presented by Buildaid and SA Garden and Home, you can get updated on all the vital decisions that need to be made when embarking on a building project. With an emphasis on up-front planning and budgeting, our series of workshops allow you to interact with specialists, so you can make great informed decisions.

Workshop dates and themes:

Workshop 1 – Get structured (06 May)
We focus on key areas in a structure which include brickwork and roofing materials.

Workshop 2 – Be comfortable (27 May)
Specialists present and discuss various insulating products and systems along with how they fit into the planning of a home.

Workshop 3 – Be transparent (24 June)
We discuss the different types of windows and doors available in the market, as well as how the glass that’s put into these windows can change the dynamics dramatically.

Workshop 4 – Get detailed (15 July)
Specialist presenters look at examples of finishing elements, including boards and mouldings.

Workshop 5 – Get wet (19 August)
We discuss various bathroom products from an aesthetic, technical, installation, planning and pricing point of view.

Workshop 6 – Get cooking (09 September)
Specialists present some of the elements and activities that go into a kitchen along with planning, aesthetics and pricing. Our kitchen specialist will also discuss cupboards in the home.

Workshop 7 – Warm up (30 September)
We present various systems to heat water, while also considering installation costs and energy saving.

Workshop 8 – Be inside (21 October)
Walls and floors make up the biggest areas in a home and which is why we dedicate a workshop to planning, choosing the right product, pricing and application thereof.

Workshop 9 – Go green (18 November)
The term green can refer to many applications, designs and installations and this workshop looks at a few common installations used in homes.
